Being a sports fanatic all her life and taking up a special interest in the fitness industry in her adult years, it was only natural that Oriel and her hubby Bryan jumped at the chance to take on the HBC MMA gym when the opportunity arose. Oriel has always had an interest in the mixed martial arts and fighting scene, from doing Taekwondo as a child, dipping in and out of boxing for 10 years, and being heavily involved in her eldest daughter Jonah's journey of becoming a boxer.

After her fifth baby, Oriel wanted a new challenge, and decided to take on body building, competing on the stage only 10 months after giving birth! What started as a way to get back in shape became a new love and she went on to compete seven times in two years, winning four 1st places, three 2nds, and one 3rd. It was during this time, as she learnt more about the body and nutrition she decided to get into personal training seriously. With her passion for helping people reach their goals, and feel good about themselves, Oriel has now been a PT for Six years.

Coming from a sports fanatic family, it's no surprise Jonah represented numerous sports at top level. She represented NZ Mixed in Netball, as well as Harbour for Tag, Netball, Touch and Softball.

Like her Mum Oriel, Jonah had an interest in boxing, and in 2015 she began her journey into the boxing world. Training hard, she took up the challenge and began corporate fighting in 2016 with 8 fights (5 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw). After then taking a year off, she decided 2018 was the time to make the step into amateur boxing. With 8 amateur fights under her belt (4 wins and 4 losses), becoming Golden Gloves 69kgs champ this year the first time she entered, and Auckland Champs runner up, Jonah's skill and fun personality make her a great asset to the training team at HBC MMA.
